We are looking for 2 Production Supervisors - Foreman/woman, fish freezing, and storage to run our groundfish filleting line. The production supervisor for groundfish will work with our staff to efficiently operate the groundfish line and to build a great culture on the floor.

Job duties:

Recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality,

Supervise, co-ordinate and schedule (and possibly review) activities of workers,

Establish methods to meet work schedules and co-ordinate work activities with other work units, Identify, evaluate, control, and prevent hazards at all stages of the food production process

Monitoring of production materials and supplies.

Establish methods to organize and plan production accordingly for multiple orders and customers.

Resolve work problems and recommend measures for continuous improvement in productivity and product quality.

Provide training and coaching to production staff regarding different job duties, use of equipment or tools, safety procedures, and company policy.

Provide recommendations on personnel actions such as hirings and promotions.

Prepare production reports to ensure recoveries meet standards. Reviewing daily production reports to ensure production meets quality and production targets as defined by the Company.

Identify, evaluate, control, and prevent hazards at all stages of the production process. Ensuring that HACCP, GMP, and QA standards for food regulations are met.

Job requirements

Experience: min 1 year in the fish industry

Education: Completion of Secondary School is required. University Education will be an asset.

Language: English

Ability to supervise 40-50 people - Labourers in fish processing, fish plant workers, Industrial butchers, and meat cutters, poultry preparers, and related workers

Strong leadership, Interpersonal and Communication skills both verbal and written with a proven ability to communicate in an ESL work environment

Strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills.

Fast-paced environment

Physically demanding

Standing for extended periods.

Working in cooler temperature, wet and moist.

Requires flexibility on work time to meet tight deadlines

Install replacement mufflers, exhaust pipes, shock absorbers, or radiators on motor vehicles, trucks, and heavy equipment

Tire rotation, repairs, and balancing

Add or replace hydraulic and transmission fluids in motor vehicles, trucks

Assist other mechanics as required and perform other duties as directed

Drive automobile or service truck to the location to assess needs and if repair is required return vehicle to shop for repair within 50km range.

Perform scheduled maintenance services, such as oil changes, lubrications, and tune-ups

Advise customers on work performed, general vehicle condition, and future repair requirements.

Inspect and test mechanical units, such as engines, transmissions, axles, and brake systems, to locate faults and malfunctions

Diagnose faults or malfunctions and confirm findings with supervisor to determine whether to repair or replace the unit

Repair or replace mechanical units or components using hand and power tools

Complete reports to record problems and work performed.

Adjust, repair, or replace parts and components of truck-trailer systems including structural, brake, and electrical systems.
