Job Opening in Canada: Position – 1 Mechanic

 

Type of Employment: Full time Permanent, 2 years

Wage: $ 29 per hour

Hours of work: 32-40 per week

Job duties:

Review work orders and discuss work customers

Inspect motor in operation, road test motor vehicle, and test automotive systems and components using computerized diagnostic and other testing devices to diagnose and isolate faults as required

Adjust, repair, or replace parts and components of commercial and automotive systems including fuel system, brakes, steering and suspension, engine and drive train, emission control, and exhaust, cooling and climate control, and electrical and electronic systems using hand tools and other specialized automotive repair equipment

Perform scheduled maintenance services, such as oil changes, lubrications, and tune-ups

Advise customers on work performed, general vehicle condition, and future repair requirements.

Inspect and test mechanical units, such as engines, transmissions, axles, and brake systems, to locate faults and malfunctions

Diagnose faults or malfunctions and confirm findings with supervisor to determine whether to repair or replace the unit

Repair or replace mechanical units or components using hand and power tools

Complete reports to record problems and work performed.

Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of truck-trailer systems including structural, brake, and electrical systems.

Job requirements

Experience: Min 4 years experience working as a mechanic on Vehicles

Education: Secondary school, 4-year apprentice program completion is an asset.

Language: English

Class 1A is an asset

Experience with new and old vehicles is an asset experience working on vehicles

Hours of work: 32 per week, Day and Nightshift

Employment dates – April 1, 2021 – September 27, 2021

Job duties:

•          Set up and operate machines to cut, clean, brine, dehydrate or otherwise process fish.

Sort fish according to species, weight, and destination

•          Set up and operate machines to bag, box, and pack fish.

•          Record production information such as quantity, weight, date, and type of products packaged.

•          Check products and packaging for any defects to ensure it meets company standards and performs corrective machine adjustments as required.

Duties not limited to:

•          Washing baskets.

•          Labeling boxes.

•          Racking and De-racking fish

•          Palletizing.

•          Lifting up to 25-70 pounds.

•          General cleanup etc.

•          Working on the production line to cut, clean, and trim fish.

Job requirements

 Experience in fish cutting

The ability to communicate in English will be an asset.

Forklift Driving will be an asset.

Ability to work evenings and weekends

English is an asset - Basic English is required (100 words to communicate)

Must be able to stand long periods of time and complete repetitive tasks

Job in Canada: BC employer need 100 Fish processors

 Business information: We receive fresh fish from fishing boats on Vancouver Island and we cut, pack, and freeze the various product and pack styles for distribution to frozen markets.

 

Wage:  $17.00 hourly,  40 hours per week. Overtime is available.

Positions available: 100

Term of employment: full time, Seasonal  - March 15, 2021 - November 30, 2021

Day and Nightshift  

 

Requirements:

  • Education: No formal education required
  • Experience: Experience is an asset. Training will be provided
  • We prefer candidates that speak English well but as we have an urgent need for help, candidates with a basic command of English will also be accepted
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks
  • Ability to work in a cold environment
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time

 

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Handle and pack fish
  • Safely operate fish cutting machinery, work around conveyor belts
  • Properly grade product and assign to a category
  • Survey all equipment to assure proper working order
  • Handle product properly to ensure maximum shelf life
  • Communicate quality issues to supervisors
  • Inform supervisor of any changes or problems
  • Lift boxes that weigh 10-15 Kg boxes
  • Clean-up workstation and department
