Landscape Labourer




Work Location: Various locations within the Greater Montreal area

Type of Employment: Full time – Seasonal (180-days contract)

Anticipated Start Date: Mid April 2021

Job Duties:  

  • Weed, prune and trim trees and plants 

  • Cut grass

  • Rake and collect refuse 

  • Remove litter and garbage 

  • Cart and spread topsoil and other materials 

  • Lay sod or seed 

  • Plant bulbs, flowers, shrubs, and trees 

  • Repair and maintain equipment 

  • Write daily basic progress reports 

  • Water and tend to plants, lawns, and/or gardens 

  • Operate and maintain landscape maintenance equipment

  • Grass and uni stone installation

  • Drive a vehicle from one work location to the other


Requirements:

- Education: Not required

- Experience: Experience is an asset. On-the-job training will be provided

- Driver’s license is an asset

- Working Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Repetitive tasks, Handling heavy loads, Physically demanding, Manual dexterity, Attention to detail, Hand-eye co-ordination, Combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, kneeling

- Personal Suitability: Reliability, Organized, Flexibility, Effective interpersonal skills, Team player, Dependability

- Language: English or French is required

- Class 5 driver’s license is required

- Work setting: Landscape Maintenance

- Work Site Environment: Outdoors



Salary: $14.00 to $15.00 hourly, 50 – 55 hours per week 


Benefits: Uniforms are provided, travel expenses are paid by the employer if the worker needs to relocate. Company telephone is provided and a company vehicle will be available occasionally for personal use. Accommodation is available at a cost. 


Important information:

Flexibility on schedule is required. The applicant will work up to 55 hours per week. Work schedule is Monday to Friday from 6:30 AM to 17:30 PM with 2 days off on a rotational basis, a 1-hour lunch break that is not paid, and 2 15-minutes-break which are paid.


To work on weekends or overtime hours can be required depending on the business’s needs. The candidate will be entitled to a rest period of at least 32 consecutive hours per week. Flexibility on schedule is required.
