Job Duties:
- Install, remove, maintain and repair aerial and other telecommunication transmission and distribution lines, cables and associated hardware as per requirements
- Splice and repair various types and sizes of telephone and other telecommunication cables including single line, coaxial, dc, and fibre optic
- Inspect and test telecommunication transmission lines and cables for transmission characteristics and to locate faults and report as required
- Analyze and record test results - Azimuth and Sweeps
- Climb and work aloft on poles, ladders or other support structures or work in confined spaces such as trenches while following safety procedures
- Communicate with other workers to coordinate the preparation and completion of work assignments
- Assist in the erection and removal of telecommunication poles, towers, and associated support structures as required
- May operate elevated platforms and other equipment
Job requirements:
- College program in electronics is an asset
- Four-year telecommunications line and cable apprenticeship program is an asset
- Excellent English skills
- Punctual
- Able to work with heights
- Willing to work in all seasons outside - winter work!
- Ability to travel across different provinces in Canada
- Drivers license is an asset
- First aid + CPR training is an asset
Wage Offered: 28/ hour plus per diem for out of town work
